Well, my time here is done. After I didn’t get her those three adamantine items at all, Rhenaya has realized that I’m not likely to get her an adamantine throne for her dining room anytime soon either. So, she and the other nobles have fired me. I suppose they want to take credit for the throne room design themselves. Fine by me. I’ve already designed my own cell off the Hall of Justice. I figure if I’m already there, they won’t move me when whatever I get blamed for comes around. Here’s a few notes for whoever gets this after me:

  • The massive order of iron statues are for general room value improvement. Remember, we’ve got enough trade goods to buy whatever weapons and armor we need in steel.
  • Most switches flip the thing they are closest to.
  • The area that cuts through the aquifers is still considered outside. Ordering dwarves not to go outdoors will make this area off-limits. Be careful.
  • I’ve provided rooms for the King/Queen (hereafter referred to as the King) and entourage. The breakdown is as follows:
    1. The giant throne room is for the King, obviously.
    2. The dining room closest to the throne room is for the King, the one further south is for the King’s Consort (hereafter referred to as the Consort). There is a touch of overlap. Don’t worry about it. This room will need most of those iron tables, chairs, and statues to get its worth up to par.
    3. The bedroom closest to the throne room is for the King, the one further south is for the Consort. Both are Royal in quality and, between these and the dining rooms, both King and Consort should have all the furniture they need.
    4. The rooms for the King’s Adviser are the three, large L-shaped rooms below the King and Consort rooms. The three little rooms below the royal couple’s dining room are currently given to the Philosopher for no real reason.
    5. The King’s tomb has the red coffin. The Consort’s is the unassigned tomb connected to the King’s. The King’s is ready, but Consort’s still need a bit more to become Royal quality.
  • The military is trained in wrestling, hammers, and crossbows to various degrees.
  • You may need a few more bedrooms, including in the barracks.
  • Keep an eye on the animals. I’d recommend you slaughter anything that’s not a calf/kitten/puppy/foal. We seem to produce a lot of them, and there isn’t anything to hunt.
  • Food and drink production (which was rather low when we started) is now at rock solid levels, which in turn should keep the clothing industry well stocked, you shouldn’t have to worry about it unless somebody crucial dies.
  • You might want to go ahead and add a few more chains in the Hall of Justice to get us up to twenty. The drink stockpile and beds in there are meant to let the chained dwarves still enjoy some of the finer things in life.

It’s been fun, and I’m excited to see what becomes of the place. If you could give my room a glass door, I’d appreciate it. 😉 Best of luck.
